Senators Introduce Iran Bill

Motion would require Congressional support of nuclear treaty.

On Friday, some members of the Senate released a new bill designed to redefine the diplomatic relationship between the U.S. and Iran. The bill would define the Iran nuclear deal put in place by President Obama’s administration as an international treaty, which would require a two-thirds vote of approval for it to remain in place.

Senator Ron Johnson, one of the authors of the bill, stated, “It is critical to the security of America and to world peace that any deal Biden negotiates with Iran be deemed a treaty requiring approval by the U.S. Senate.” The announcement of this bill comes amid negotiations taking place in Vienna with Iran through European intermediaries.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of the Senate as they consider how to vote on this bill.
  • That U.S. negotiators seek God’s direction as talks between the U.S. and Iran take place.
  • For the president as he meets with European and other heads of state.
